Purpose of this assignment
This assignment will provide you a better understanding of the connections between strategic management, leadership, and organizational direction, as well as the ability to apply that knowledge to a specific organisation.
This project must be completed in reference to the company you now work for or a company you are familiar with.
You are a management consultant who has been hired by a company to write a report on management and leadership requirements to support the company's business strategy. In the markets it serves, the organization has recently noticed significant changes in technology and business dynamics. This circumstance must be planned for and managed.
The senior management team want you to assess its current and future leadership requirements and produce a realistic leadership strategy and development plan for future leaders of the organisation.
The strategy will be based on your review of the organisation’s management and leadership needs and must be supported by your findings from research of relevant theories and models.
Task 1 (LO 1 and 2 AC 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1)
Consider the distinctions between management and leadership in the organisation you've chosen. Examine how management and leadership styles are adapted to various situations inside the organisation, as well as the impact these styles have on strategic decision-making.
You must reference your findings to relevant management and leadership theories.
Task 2 (LO 2 AC2.2)
Create a leadership strategy to support the organisation's future path, based on specified management and leadership theories and methodologies.
Task 3 (LO 3 and 4 AC3.1, 3.2, 4.1)
Use appropriate methods to review the current leadership and management within the organisation in relation to the skills that they may require for future situations or challenges that the organisation could face.
Task 4 (LO 4 AC 4.2)
Plan how to develop leadership skills to deal with potential situations or challenges and report on the likely usefulness of the development methods to be used.
